PRE-POWERSKATE

Prerequisite: Skaters age 6 and under must have completed CanSkate Stage 2, have equivalent skating skills or on coach recommendation.

A 30-minute program taught by our NCCP Certified CanPowerSkate Professional Coaches is designed for young skaters, approximately four to six years of age who can skate the perimeter of the ice without their stick, push with both feet, skate forwards and backwards, stop, balance and glide on one foot.

The PrePower program focuses on improving the essential skills required for hockey including balance, forward/backward skating, stopping, turning, agility and endurance.

Full hockey equipment and stick required.

This program is NOT a learn-to-skate program.

 

CANPOWERSKATE

Prerequisite: Skaters age 7-10 must have completed CanSkate Stage 4, passed PrePower, have equivalent skating skills or on coach recommendation.

 A 40-minute program taught by our NCCP Certified CanPowerSkate Professional Coaches. The CanPower program is endorsed by Hockey Canada as the National Learn-to-Skate Program. This action packed, high-energy, instructional power skating program focuses on power, balance, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format and emphasizes how the skills can be applied in a game situation. 

Skaters must be able to skate the perimeter of the ice without their stick, push with both feet, skate forwards and backwards, stop with speed, balance and glide on one foot, complete forward crosscuts, backwards glides with speed on one foot from blue-line to blue-line. 

Full hockey equipment and stick required.

This program is NOT a learn-to-skate program.

PLEASE NOTE

A required $45 insurance fee per skater will be added to the above costs. This fee is payable once per season and will not be charged on any subsequent registrations during the 2019-2020 season
